Coffee, tea and cake session
This was a great success and raised over £600. A big thank you to our bakers, growers and helpers. Once we sorted out how to run a raffle, where to hang the bunting and was it going to rain, we were ready. Lots of visitors came, cake never lets you down and new contacts were made.
Flyers and information sheets to hand, we managed to get round to everyone to ask if they had made an objection or if they needed help making one. We are planning to host another event soon and will let you know when we have a date.
One of the people who attended asked if we would like to go to their coffee morning in Barlborough to hand out flyers. We did this last Friday and were surprised that some people did not know about it, or had heard something but had no details. It highlights the fact that we need to reach out to all the local villages. To that end, if you know of a venue or opportunity that we could attend, please let us know.
Peaceful demos outside Bolsover District offices
at the Arc in Clowne
Two demos have now taken place (13th and 20th May), both went well. The first one was very wet but I’m pleased to say the one on Wednesday was dry and warmer. We got a few toots and thumbs ups, we also handed out flyers to people passing by. Thank you to everyone who came along to support. Four of us joined the council meeting afterwards. We sat quietly at the back, wearing our homemade badges (sadly placards were not allowed). We got a feel of the place and its formality.

We will be handing out flyers this Saturday from 3-4pm on the green in front of Home Bargains in Clowne. Please join us if you can.
